Our History

Family-Owned. Family-Operated. Serving the Farming Community Since 1968.

Schrock Farm Equipment began in 1968, when Ernest “Ern” Schrock started the business on the family farm in the Pleasant Valley area of Oakland, Maryland.

What began as a small, family-run operation grew through hard work, a commitment to quality equipment, and a simple belief: take care of your customers and treat them like family. To those who knew him, he was simply Ern. He and his wife, Martha, raised their family while Ern built the business, serving farmers, landowners, and rural families throughout the region.

For nearly five decades, Ern remained involved in Schrock Farm Equipment. His dedication to the business and the people he served helped establish the foundation on which the company continues to operate today.

Ern passed away in 2014, leaving behind not only a successful business, but a legacy of hard work, family, and service. Following Ern’s passing, his son Calvin took ownership of the business, continuing the family tradition. Today, the next generation—Ernie, Joel, Daniel, and Nathan—also plays an important role in the operation of Schrock Farm Equipment.

Over the years, our business has grown from its humble beginnings into a full-service farm equipment dealership offering a wide variety of tractors, hay and forage equipment, implements, attachments, and equipment for farms and rural properties. While our inventory and product lines have changed with the times, our commitment to family, hard work, and personal service has remained the same.

For more than 50 years, Schrock Farm Equipment has been proud to serve the farmers and rural communities of Garrett County, Western Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and beyond. We are grateful for every customer who has supported our family business throughout the years. Their trust and friendship have allowed us to continue the tradition Ern started back in 1968.

From our family to yours, thank you for allowing Schrock Farm Equipment to be a part of your farm and your family for more than five decades.
